For creatives, inspiration can come from anywhere, but for IKEY, it was his recent trip to CultureCon in New York that reignited his creative fire and set the stage for his next chapter. In this exclusive interview, IKEY opens up about his journey back to New York, the launch of his superhero persona, and what’s next for his evolving platform, MASTERPEACE.
“Being back in New York was awesome and a blessing,” IKEY reflects, clearly still riding the high of his five-day trip to the city that raised him. But this time, IKEY wasn’t just another visitor in the concrete jungle. As he puts it, he was “documenting and taking pictures, doing research for future projects, creating a pool of inspiration to pull from later.” This wasn’t just a homecoming. It was a work trip for the artist he’s become and a key moment in the evolution of his creative journey.
“I was there for CultureCon, surrounded by so many creative professionals who do this for a living. Hearing their stories, how similar their struggles were to mine—it was super inspiring. I came back energized and recharged.” For IKEY, CultureCon was more than just a networking opportunity; it was a pivotal moment in reclaiming his space as a visual artist and creative professional.

Part of that reemergence involved the formal unveiling of his superhero alter ego, IKEY INCREDIBLE, a persona he’s been developing for quite some time. “The whole character idea behind IKEY is that he’s from New York. He’s a superhero or vigilante from New York,” IKEY explains. “The glasses, the persona—it stands out to people, and CultureCon was the perfect platform to test that character in the real world.” Wearing his signature IKEY shades throughout the event, he stood out, capturing the attention of fellow creatives and leaving an indelible mark on those he encountered. “I think I left a lasting impact or imprint on a lot of people.”
For IKEY, the IKEY INCREDIBLE persona is more than just a creative mask—it’s a vessel. “Having a vessel to channel that creative energy into, independent from myself, is a blessing,” he admits. The persona frees him from the pressures of perfectionism. “I can experiment without the fear of failure. It’s like when I did the Reebok project—I didn’t want Isaac to have the pressure of success or failure, so I put it under IKEY.”
It’s this duality—Isaac Reeves, the realist and achiever, versus IKEY INCREDIBLE, the dreamer—that drives his latest work. “Isaac is the realist, the achiever, and IKEY is more of the dreamer. And so having that balance and those boundaries is really important.” It’s a delicate balancing act, but one that has empowered him to push his creative boundaries. “It’s opened up doors for me,” IKEY says. “A lot of times the greatest obstacle to that next stage in our work or life is ourselves.”
CultureCon, in many ways, was the perfect testing ground for this duality. “For a single weekend, you can be anyone you want to be,” IKEY explains. “If you play your cards right, you can use that momentum to truly become who you want to be. For me, the dreamer and achiever became one at CultureCon.”
And while this hard launch of the IKEY persona was a major highlight of CultureCon, the trip to New York did much more than that. “I treated this as a work trip, documenting and taking pictures for future projects,” IKEY says. “It was like creating my own Pinterest board with actual things I was seeing and interacting with.” By immersing himself in New York’s cultural landscape, IKEY has reignited the vision for his platform MASTERPEACE, which he calls “the hub for everything I do.”
“MASTERPEACE is going to be the foundation for everything that I do,” IKEY explains. It’s not just a platform for sharing his work; it’s a space for others to document, preserve, and share their stories as well. “It’s a two-way platform, a place for people to resonate and connect with their own creative journeys as well as mine. My goal is to build something bigger than myself.”
In the months to come, IKEY plans to expand MASTERPEACE beyond his personal projects, providing a space for his peers in the creative space to tell their stories. “Right now, I’m focusing on getting comfortable running it, getting the logistics down, but eventually, MASTERPEACE is going to be a collaborative space,” he says. As for what’s next for IKEY INCREDIBLE, he’s tight-lipped, but the excitement in his voice is unmistakable. “There’s so much more I want to create. More projects, more stories, and I can’t wait to share them.”
